Turntable tweaks
Turntable Mats

-RD Ringmat. This cork and card disc replaces the felt mat used on most turntables with excellent results. Please provide us with the turntable/tone arm model to confirm if its suitable for use on your deck. Can significantly improve detail retrieval and reduce bass smearing. The 330 MK II XLR at £55 fits most turntables from Nottingham Analogue, Linn, Roksan, Rega and many others.
-RD RingCap is the perfect partner for the Ringmat (above). Simply place it on the label of your LP as it plays and it damps unwanted vibration (not suitable for use with record clamps): £15.
-RD LP Statmat following the research on the CD Statmat this version is designed to live between the Ringmat and platter: £16.

-RD Ringmat LP support system full kit includes the Statmat, Ringcap and a wide selection of VTA spacers. Prices range from £115 to £140, excluding the Ringmat itself.

-Verdier Record Mat This lead-loaded rubber this mat provides good damping and grip between the record and the turntable platter: £140.

-Living Voice Mystic mat Carbon Fibre mat, available with or without matching engraved Michell record clamp: £195 for the mat on its own or £225 including record clamp.

-Rega Black felt mat, made from 100% wool these mats are standard fitment on original Planar turntables as well as the latest P2, P3, P5 and P7. Their approximate 2mm thickness makes them also suitable for most other turntables: £10.


-Rega Coloured felt mat, as the black mat listed above but in four stunning colours to really liven up your turntables appearance. Currently available in purple, yellow, red and Blue: £12.


Record Clamps

-Michell Record Clamp. Fits almost all turntables, this lightweight (65gm) aluminium clamp can both improve sound quality and can help reduce the severity of warps. Available in two versions, a standard one to fit most turntables and an R specification for decks with short spindles like Rega’s. Both versions cost: £26.99.
-RDC Record Puck Record weight made from a combination of steel and the RDC composite material, it is designed to damp vibrations in the record as it plays. Fitted with a rubber ‘O’ ring to ensure good contact with the label part of the LP. Weight 280gm: £59.95.


-Project Record Puck high mass (780gm) brass record weight: £40.

KAB Bubble record clamp made from soft rubber this clamp also incorporates a spirit level in the top. It weighs only 60gm: £29.95


Vinyl cleaning Accessories

-Goldring Record Brush. Good record brushes like these are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Using Carbon Fibre bristles and a felt pad this brush should remove all the surface dust from your records: £12.95.
-Carbon Fibre record brush as above but does not feature the felt pad making it easier to use on most belt drive turntables: £8.

-Last Power Cleaner specifically designed to remove pressing residues and contaminants left over from the record manufacturing process. These sticky residues are tightly bound to the groove wall and attract and hold dirt and debris that cannot be removed by the usual water or water/alcohol mix record cleaner: £39.95 (3/4 oz. bottle with 3 micro-fiber applicators).

-Pixall MK2 record cleaner. A specially formulated cleaning tape is rolled over the surface of the record to pick up debris and dust, powerfully and quickly. When the roller becomes dirty and loses its efficiency simply peel the tape to expose a fresh layer: £15.00

-Pixall refill for Mk2 record cleaner (as detailed above): £5.

-Zerostat 3 antistatic gun. Simply point and shoot this at your LP’s and CD’s and the flow of positive ions counteracts the static charge that can be deleterious to sound quality and cause additional background noise on LP’s : £39.50.

-Knosti Disco Antistat Manual Record Cleaner. This is a very cost effective wet cleaning system for LP’s. Simply clamp the LP the label and rinse the record in the solution provided. It has also just won a Hi Fi Choice product of the year award: £45 includes Fluid.
-Knosti Disco Antistat Fluid for above record cleaner: £14.95.
-Moth Record Cleaning Machine This motorised, vacuum based cleaning system uses an Alcohol based cleaning solution to make sure that any dirt is removed from your records. Prices start from £450 for a complete version (kits also available). We can also provide machines from other companies such as VPI and Loricraft.

-Moth record cleaning solution for record cleaning machines: £17.50 for 1 litre. (5L bottle also available for £35)

-L’ Art du Son Record Cleaning Liquid Concentrated alcohol free record cleaning solution that when mixed with distilled water makes 5 litres of fluid (enough for approximately 500 records). The fluid is perfect for record cleaning machines and the Knosti disco Antistat: £27.95


Antistatic Inner Sleeves

-Nagaoka Antistatic record sleeves. £14.95 for a pack of 50.
-Goldring Exstatic Poly lined Inner sleeves. Full replacement inner sleeves protect your records from static whilst the soft lining reduces the chance of dust scratching the playing surface, which is one of the biggest causes of surface noise: £14.95 for 25.


Turntable Setup Tools

-The Cartridge Man/Hifi News test LP Invaluable tool for anyone who is serious about setting their turntable up correctly. The LP has various test tones starting with the basics such as channel identification and phasing through to tracking tests, resonance and bias/anti-skate tests. Also includes a good quality alignment protractor suitable for almost all tonearms (including parallel trackers): £25.

-Shure SFG-2 stylus balance This is an invaluable addition to anyone’s turntable setup kit as it accurately allows you to set tracking force: £25.



-Roksan Electronic Stylus Balance Reads in 0.001g steps up to 5 gramme tracking force. Comes with carry case as pictured: £50.

-Martin Bastin Strobe Disc and Zapper, a highly accurate way to check your turntables speed accuracy. Because the Zapper is independent from the mains its a far more accurate way to illuminate the strobe markings than a mains powered light: £45 (requires 2 x AA batteries not included).

-van den Hul protractor Mirrored Alignment gauge: £15.

-van den Hull Headshell Link pack of four silver replacement high quality silver headshell: £35

-vdH Spindle Oil Special turntable bearing oil based on high grade oil stock with extremely small zirconium balls added. The balls fill any gaps and irregularities caused by wear or any less than perfect manufacturing tolerances. We recommend this oil as being suitable for the majority of turntable bearings: £30 per bottle.

-vdH TLF (The Lower Friction) Oil Comes in the same container as the Spindle oil (above), this is a much thinner natural oil designed for very fine tolerance parts including a few turntable bearings and laser rails in CD/DVD players: £30 per bottle.

-Ortofon Carbon fibre Stylus Brush These brushes are the perfect way to clean your cartridge, with or without cleaning fluid : £12.


-Audio Technica AT607 alcohol based stylus cleaning fluid, includes basic brush: £4.95.

-Lyra SPT Stylus Cleaner. Originally designed to clean and also improve the performance of Lyra cartridges but it will also work its magic on any cartridge: £29.

-Last Stylus cleaner includes applicator and fluid: £20.

Dust Covers

Rega tonearm Accessories and Tweaks


-Michell Finger lock nut for use with Rega type tonearms that allows the arm to be tightened by hand, without requiring a spanner. Makes VTA adjustment a doddle when combined with the VTA adjuster listed above: £7.99.
-Michell Tecnoweight ultra high quality replacement under-slung counterweight and stub for Rega RB250, RB300 and RB600 tonearms. Comes complete with two weights to ensure an accurate match with any cartridge and the precisely calibrated markings on the adjuster also do the job of a stylus balance: £71.95.


-Michell VTA adjuster designed to provide VTA adjustment for Rega tonearms on Michell turntables, now includes 2mm shorter spacers for Michell turntables: £19.99.


These are replacements for the standard arm board stand offs as fitted to the Gyro SE, GyroDec and Orbe. They incorporate rubber ‘O’ rings to help decouple the armboard from the main subchassis of the turntable. They give very worthwhile improvements to the overall sonic presentation and detail retrieval. They are available in Rega and SME versions, the only difference being the termination of the earthing wire (the one photographed above left is for Rega based tonearms): £19.50.

-Orbe Platter kit This kit is an upgrade for the Gyro and Gyrodec turntables. It includes the higher mass platter from the Orbe as well as the screw down clamp and sub chassis damping material. The key sonic improvements with this kit are improved bass extension and solidity as well as more precision to stereo images : £366
