The Silver Spine uses ultra thin ribbons of 99.99% pure silver which are suspended inside thin walled Teflon tubing, effectively putting them in an air dielectric. The signal and ground are spaced apart from one another with Ebony rods (not Teflon as pictured here) at intervals to ensure an equal gap is maintained and the cables are terminated with high quality silver plated plugs.

The sound they produce is stunningly detailed without in anyway being overly analytical. The top end is extremely extended with a slightly dry characteristic at the very top but with a complete absence of smear, which gives it astonishing levels of transparency and musicality. It demands the best partnering components but in the right system it really excels.


The PurerNote is a purist cable designed to fully exploit the superiority of silver conductors. These interconnects are painstakingly hand made using high purity silver wire and a non synthetic (cotton) insulator, with the sole aim to make them sound as natural as possible. This strength means that they are perfectly at home in any ultra revealing system, including those using very high efficiency/horn speakers.

Chord have been busy developing a new super cable and we’ve just received some from the first production run and its certainly something very special. It has really excellent midband information retrieval in a very musical sounding overall package, a feat that very few cables are able to pull off without becoming artificial sounding. This cable is a must try for any hi end system.
